Fractal has a sustainability strategy which includes targets, initiatives, values and culture to measure and develop our work with sustainability, social responsibility, corporate governance and business ethics. The strategy applies until 2025.
Responsible entrepreneurship is a must if we are to run a long-term successful business. We want to be a positive force in the gaming business and working with sustainability is one way to accomplish that. A clear sustainability focus is also important to our customers, investors, employees and to society as a whole. During 2023, we will collect data from our value chain and office practices which will enable us to set more measurable sustainability goals for the future.
Fractal has a deep understanding for our environmental and social impact, and in which areas we can make a difference. With the materiality analysis as a foundation, we will consider relevant sustainability aspects when we make decisions. We do this regardless if it’s about choosing new partners, exploring new alternatives for shipping, product design or selecting spare parts and materials. Fractal collaborate exclusively with partners who maintain high ethical standard and adhere to our own code of conduct. It is vital to us that all partners comply with local workplace regulations and prioritize health and safety. Partners must always abide all applicable laws and regulations. We maintain a strict policy of zero tolerance towards bribery, corruption, and unethical business practices.
Governance and stakeholder dialouge
Sustainability is a part of Fractals corporate governance which ensures that our business is run in a sustainable, responsible, and effective manner. Governance is an important foundation for us to achieve our long-term strategic goals and to keep the trust of our stakeholders. We consider our stakeholders to be an essential part of our sustainability efforts, which is why we will focus specifically on sustainability in our dialogue with stakeholders during the year.
Reduced plastic in packaging
One of our sustainability initiatives is to reduce plastic in our product packaging by exchanging ordinary plastic to more climate-friendly alternatives. One example is pulp-tray packaging – a recycled and biodegradable material which replaces polystyrene or Styrofoam. Pulp-tray packaging reduces environmental impact in two ways; we can replace polystyrene with biodegradable pulp material, and we can make the packaging smaller. In November 2022, we launched our first product with pulp-tray packaging. More products with the same type of packaging are planned to be released in 2023.
